I cannot think of anybody I know that didn't think (once in their lifetime) of being like Fred Astaire or becoming a professional dancer, when watching any of his performances in his nice, lovely movies.

I remember being a kid and watching those movies and I dreamt that I was Ginger while dancing in my living room. I swear that I was sure that I was as good as them dancing around the sofa...

Good times. In my opinion, he is still one of the best dancers and performatic man in Show Business. "The" Showman.

But hey, nobody's perfect, right?
So, just to say hello (once again), I want to share with you one of the things that makes me remember The USA in its cultural vein: the music.

Of course it's very personal, 'cause I'm relating the songs and singers with memories I have from the days I've lived there.

Every time I hear some bands and some songs I got to connect them with the America' soul.
By the time I was in my 3rd or 4th year, I felt somehow like I was American myself. The blue pubs, the rock'n roll bars, the jazzy night clubs...and I was so much in love for a kind of "familia" guy that I couldn't help my hot blood to feel the music like part of my body and soul...so...Aerosmith, Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Heart and many others were part of my soundtrack.

Anyway, I just want to reveal that this song is so Godamm sexy! Perfect choice for this movie scene. Perfect for a honeymoon, perfect for having pleasure.

And by the way, what was that movie/ What about Mickey Rourke? Owo!

Come to my window - Juliet/Melissa- just a nice combination.

In 1994 when I heard this clip I was completelly overwhelmed by the great combination they acchieved putting together two women of guts!!!
I first saw Juliet on her debut in "Cape of Fear" starring Robert de Niro. Man, what was that?? It's one of the most scariest suspense movie of all times. I was afraid of him! Really... hes was so satanic real in his anguish for vengeance. And Juliet seemed at that time a promissing actress. Her acting was superb as an infantile teenager that gets hypnotized by the seduction of an older, unconventional icon; just the opposite role played by her tradicional parents that were just keeping the apearences of a happy family, that in fact, they weren't.
Anyhow, she just showed us that besides her talent, she is a genuine example of a generation that doesn't only play the rules and roles the midia wants to keep them on the top list.
She behaves within an alternative, free rock'n roll life style, not fearing to be connected with the underground side of the Hollywood world.
She adjusts herself very well in roles that demand a lot of mental and emotional control in and out the sets. "Natural born killers" and "Kalifornia" are good examples of that. Its a pitty she has decided to get away from the acting scenario to be a singer in a trashy rock band.
I think she represents a modern role woman: she doesn't need to use her sexual appeal to be recognized. She is secure of herself and doesn't fear to be misunderstood for her choices.
In her turn, Melissa brought out to life Janis' style of singing a rock'n roll with the soul. Her horse voice is magical and unfortunatelly some people insist to associate her talent with her hormones.

 I like to use it, especially when I have a headache. All you need is to preassure the points indicated with the preassure enough to feel where it hurts.

9.Join a health club or take a dance class.

I know, I know....all of these ideias are easy to say and hard to follow. You can tell me that you don't have dogs, kids or even a garden, that you live in an apartment. So, you can improvise !  If  you like cooking  for example, try to exchange the fat and the carbs into something lighter.
When I started my diet I began to create an imaginary full taste of the true things that I like to eat a lot and make me fat faster.  How? Let me give you a hint: I love pasta, and my doctor told me to not eat it, at all  for a while! So, I decided to cut really thin and long slices of carrots and zucchinis and pretended they were  spaghetti. And believe it or not, it worked perfectly. Of course it takes time and some effort to make, but you can make  more than what you need to eat at the moment and fridge them into some water and raw, of course.
So, if you want to eat more "pasta" the next day or so, you can cook them right away and make some creamy sauce replacing the sour cream for a light mushroom cream soup. It's very similar. You don't need to suffer to get healthier.


If you feel very hungry, drink lots of water or tea. Walk at least half an hour in a fast pace during your lunch break. Believe me, everything is about practicing. It will become a habit. It's not about being easy to change, but it's a challenge when we feel deep inside that we need to change to feel better about ourselves, especially when our health is in danger. And more you get into a shape, more your self-esteem grows.

Well, some weeks ago I was talking to some friends about tour teenage years, about how DIFFERENT we were, considering none of us is more or much more than 30 years old. We were trying to figure it out how is to be a teenager in the internet age. Yes, there was a time when there was not internet, consequently, no tweeter, no orkut, my space or face book. Oh, and no cell phones too!!!!

                                Favorite tv serie. A bit of alienation doesn't hurt.

At that time, to be a teen in the 90’s, a child in the 80’s, was really fantastic!!! Of course, it must be fantastic to be a teen now, specially for them, but in my concerne, now everyone who has a digital camera, some imagination and a LOT of self esteem can be a sort of star now. Most of my friend and me are teachers or pedagogs. I have noticed that many of us have students as friends in orkut or face book. When I visit some of these pages, suddenly that humble, shy student of mine is a charming pop star or a fame fatale. How can it be? They simply put on dreams as clothes and they have free access to different behaviors, different stars, music etc. Seems to me that everyone is a star, everyone poses!

Some time ago, the inspiration usually came from the tv series, soap operas and music stars. Nowadays it comes from everywhere. It’s not very uncommon an ordinary person call become famous because of some peculiar ability or talent, some time ago, to be an artist was much more difficult, to release an album was almost impossible. Today you can throw your music on My Space and be e successful or not. I remember when we used to fall in Love with some music in the “past”, there was not the facility of googling it to learn the lyrics. There were basically two ways, we copied- yes, handwriting- or we looked the lyrics at magazines like Bizz or Letras e Cifras. It was exciting and I particulary liked to copy and memorize the lyrics.
